I love to travel. I love to plan, and I love to experience what life has to offer. When I take a trip, I have an opportunity to do all three. The Camino De Santiago was a trip of a lifetime for me. It was a unique journey, as it encompassed travel, culture, pilgrimage, enlightenment and transformation. Pilgrims on a quest for spirituality have walked the Camino De Santiago in Europe for over a thousand years.
A walking pilgrimage like this does not require much, just a backpack, a sturdy pair of hiking shoes, and the motivation to undertake the journey. Everyone’s motivation differs – religious, spiritual, self-seeking, a sense of adventure, or an unexplainable urge.
Pilgrims may find and/or let go on the Camino De Santiago. It all depends upon the individual. Some don’t know the answers they seek because they have yet to understand the questions they are asking.
By sharing my pilgrimage experience on the Camino De Santiago, I hope to:
• Help pilgrims better prepare for their journey
• Enhance pilgrims’ experience walking the Camino
• Explain why pilgrims like me are captivated by the Camino
• Entertain readers with the story of my walk of a lifetime
